Stay courageous
Changing is not easy, so we help you stay courageous by cultivating the following thoughts:
- See change as a challenge, an adventure: It may be a bit exciting and unknown, but it is all the more rewarding when you manage to solve issues.
- Dare to play, experiment, and learn: Sometimes things will go wrong, and that’s ok because it provides valuable information about what doesn’t work.
- Understand that pointing out issues may be uncomfortable: When you highlight problems, many people may not appreciate it. They might even blame you personally, seeing you as the disturber of peace, the one who stirs things up. You can’t blame them. At that moment, you’re behaving differently than what the group expects. You might feel a bit less included, which can be tough, even though you’re just the messenger with the intention of making the organization better for everyone.
- Gain a different perspective with these questions: Ask yourself, “If I weren’t afraid of losing my job, what would I do?” or “If I didn’t care whether everyone liked me, what would I do?”
- Ensure you have enough support from other Amigos: Together, you are stronger!
