The road to an agile organization is a journey of discovery to an unknown destination full of uncertainties. The agility that is sought at the destination is very much needed on the way there.
This requires a crew that embraces change, goes out together, learns from each other and inspires others to do the same. Together they ensure that the change is anchored in the culture and structure of the organization.
Our strength lies in creating this agile crew. We call them, like ourselves, Amigos, the friends of change.

Change capability as an internal skill

Many organizations have been on a journey for quite some time to become more responsive, predictable and value-driven. Significant investments have often been made in change capability. However, that capability still tends to focus primarily on doing agile: frameworks, rituals and roles, and too little on being agile: mindset, behaviour and ownership.
In a mature transformation, capacity shifts from change specialists to change skills within the organization itself. Within the teams doing the work, as well as within (management) teams that provide direction. Responsiveness then stops being an externally introduced way of working and becomes an internal capability.
