Storytelling

Practice makes perfect!. Storytelling involves mastering the technique of telling compelling stories that captivate listeners. This technique is useful for conveying your organization’s change story. The next time you struggle to get people on board, just tell them a story!

A useful exercise for creating stories together is a storytelling session. Explain the theory and tips on storytelling, then ask each participant to write a metaphorical story about the organization’s change. These stories should be no longer than half a page, ideally with an illustration or a photo. Ask  participants to share their stories and explain their metaphor choice. Others can highlight the most impactful parts and offer tips to make the story more engaging. These stories can then be shared in various meetings.

A fun idea is to compile the stories into a nicely designed book and distribute it within the organization.
